We can’t write about the highlights of 2005 without mentioning Dolly Parton. Rich had opportunity to shoot the country superstar not once, but twice in 2005. The first shoot was for an “E! True Hollywood Story” on her life. He also shot Dolly as part of the bonus material included on the 25th anniversary DVD release of the classic film, “9 to 5.”

E! Also tapped Stone Productions to help with a special on actress Reese Witherspoon. Leesa interviewed the talent agents who gave the Nashville native her first break.

When “The View” discovered a messy garage to make over, Stone Productions was in charge of putting together the two camera shoot for two days of the make-over with “Bachelor Bob” (Bob Guiney) from the ABC show, “The Bachelor” as the on camera talent. “The View” producer commented that the footage was the best video that had been in their edit system in a long time.

Stone Productions was involved with many shoots documenting the recovery of shark attack victim Craig Hutto, who lost one of his legs after the attack. The video and interviews were used in a Diane Sawyer piece on ABC’s “Prime Time.”

In our corporate work, we continued and grew our relationship with Bridgestone Americas. We shot and edited the quarterly messages from Chairman and CEO Mark Emkes among many other exciting projects for the company, including a shoot with racing legend Mario Andretti.

Rich and Leesa produced an orientation video for Central Parking System, which will be shown to their new hires around the world. Leesa was the on camera talent and also produced and wrote the script.

Vanderbilt University continues to be an awesome client. Commencement gets bigger every year, with new challenges already in store for 2006. The production studio we helped design is a valuable tool for the University as Rich shoots live interviews with Vanderbilt professors and doctors for national media on a regular basis.

We shot several stories for Ivanhoe Broadcast News, including a feature on “Strongwoman” Kara Mann for Ivanhoe’s “Smart Woman.” It was incredible to see Kara flip giant tires and hoist 300 pound boulders as part of the extreme sport of Strongman and Strongwoman.

When Katie Couric visited Nashville, Rich was along to document the Today Show star’s tour of “honky tonks.” Afterwards, Rich shot Katie’s interview with country star Dierks Bentley while riding in Dierks’ pick up truck. NBC also hired Rich to shoot behind the scenes of country star Gretchen Wilson’s “All Jacked Up,” music video for “Dateline.”

Then Rich climbed onboard a Santa train with Naomi Judd for her new show on the Hallmark Network. They traveled to three states through Appalachia donating gifts to needy kids.

And finally in news of the not exactly weird, but well, different, Rich shot two guys who had a strange experience in the Bermuda Triangle for a show on the Sci Fi channel and he literally had an interview with a vampire, actually two vampires, for a program that was telecast on A&E.
